Prosecco tasting, sales.
Owned and run by the same family since 1892, Andrea Da Ponte has got to be one of the oldest wineries in the Conegliano area. Today the business is managed by Francesco Fabris (great-grandson of Andrea Da Ponte, and son Pier Liberale Fabris – famous for his experimentation with monovarietal Grappa, made using 100 per cent Prosecco grapes). His Don Giovanni Da Ponte DOCG Prosecco range and Superiore Cuvee Millesimato have picked up lots of prizes over the last couple of years from the Association of Italian Wine Towns.
Although over 120 years old, Andrea Da Ponte have been environmentally friendly since the 1980s, when they began using biomass boilers and thermal energy recovery systems. In 2009 they opened a large photovoltaic plant and, since then, the use of solar power has allowed CO2 emissions to be cut by 70 tonnes each year.
